Red Sky's Artistic Director Sandra Laronde and Arraymusic Director Rick Sacks will collaborate and share resources to realize Laronde’s vision of a new program, Red Sky’s 2013 Indigenous Music Creators Project. The two organizations represent the best in Canadian creative enterprises. In the spirit of sharing knowledge and vision Array will host Red Sky’s initiative.

The Indigenous Music Creators Project is an innovative, music-driven initiative that supports professional and emerging Aboriginal music creators and composers that seek to create and/or score music for dance and theatre. This project will provide a stimulus to Aboriginal musicians, singers, music creators and composers in a highly interactive and intimate learning environment.

The project will cover core topics including composition, notation, ambience (colour) and rhythm, working with traditional and contemporary genres, working collaboratively, working with soloists and pre-formed ensembles. Musicians will also benefit from a performance opportunity that will be held at the New Array Space in downtown Toronto.
