Arraymusic subsidizes the cost of rehearsal time and use of our piano in order to provide an affordable venue for local musicians. We are committed to facilitating arts organizations, and the music community at large, with a forum for artistic expression.

RENTAL PROCEDURES

You can choose whether you want your event publicised (with information on the event and a url link) or if you wish to keep it private (closed rehearsal, meeting, auditions, etc)

CONTRACT:

Renters are obligated to sign a contract for use of the space (please see the Terms of Agreement at the end of this page).

Hours of Operation: during regular office hours (10am - 5pm) employees of Arraymusic are present in the office, and renters have only to show up to the space for rental sessions. During off-hours (evenings and weekends), renters are responsible for obtaining a key. Also be advised that if you are renting during off hours you will be required to return keys and obtain the alarm code. Learn more about these requirements by contacting Arraymusic at 416.532.3019.

Invoicing: Renters will be invoiced at the time of their rental sessions, or at the end of a block of rental sessions. The renter may pay up front or by cheque no later than two weeks after use of the studio space.

TERMS OF AGREEMENT

1. The Renter will book times, subject to availability, through the ARRAYMUSIC staff. These times, booked on a verbal basis, will form a complete agreement between the Renter and ARRAYMUSIC, and the Renter may be required to pay for bookings which are cancelled within seventy-two (72) hours of the scheduled usage.

2. Rental costs are set out as follows: $12.00 per hour for use of the rehearsal studio plus, where applicable, a $5.00 per hour for use of the piano, $15.00 flat rate for the PA (two mics included) and a $10.00 flate fee for use of the studio drum set.. GST will be added to rental costs (GST Registration Number R118790237). Invoices will be issued immediately after the completion of the booked rentals, and all overdue accounts will be assessed at 2% per month overdue charge. Please note that arrangements must be made beforehand if use of the piano, PA and/or drum set is intended.

3. The Renter hereby understands that, for this rental price, ARRAYMUSIC will provide the Renter with exclusive use of the rehearsal space. All other areas of the ARRAYMUSIC space, and all other equipment (including, but not limited to, photocopier and percussion instruments) is available to the Renter only by prior arrangement.

4. The Renter hereby agrees to leave the studio within fifteen (15) minutes of the end of the rental period, and to remove all equipment, materials, and instruments that belong to the Renter within that same fifteen minutes.

Conditions for Use

5. The Renter agrees to leave the studio in the same condition in which the studio was rented to them. If the studio is not left in an acceptable condition, the Renter will be charged a cleaning fee of $20.00 per hour to restore the studio to an acceptable condition.
6. The Renter agrees to pay for damages to any equipment belonging to ARRAYMUSIC, should that damage occur during the period of their occupation of the premises.

7. Should the Renter make arrangements with ARRAYMUSIC for cartage of equipment before or after the period of their occupancy, or should ARRAYMUSIC agree to allow the Renter to store equipment between multiple bookings, it is understood that ARRAYMUSIC assumes no responsibility for damage or loss of said equipment.

8. Should the rental period be outside of standard hours of operation for ARRAYMUSIC, the Renter will be provided with a set of keys to the studio space. These keys remain the property of ARRAYMUSIC, and they are to be used only for access to the studio during the times agreed upon. Under no circumstances may duplicate keys be made. If duplicate keys are made, the Renter will lose all privileges for future use of the facility. After the termination of the final rental period, the keys are to be returned to ARRAYMUSIC. If the keys are lost, they must be replaced at the cost of the Renter.

9. Under the conditions of ARRAYMUSIC’s lease with Toronto Artscape, the public access doors to 60 Atlantic Avenue are locked on the weekend and statutory holidays and from 5:00 pm until 9:00 am on weekdays. In order to ensure the safety and security of Artscape’s tenants, under no circumstances is an outside entrance door to be propped open. Failure to comply with this condition will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement and all privileges for future use of the facility.

10. Under no circumstances is the Renter to sub-lease their allotted time to another user. All such negotiations must be dealt with directly by ARRAYMUSIC.

Duration of Agreement

11. This agreement will be considered in force from the date of its execution until further notice. Changes to the agreement, with the exception of rental charges, will require a signed amendment by the Renter. It is understood that rental charges may change given due verbal notice.
